no smell at all from the steel ones.
covered it all in an old doona, stacked bags on top of that,, made up an extra long syphon hose and used the rear window.
easy peasy.

The rear most mount on the aux is mounted to a point that is just not designed for any significant load and the chassis just cracks straight around the mount. Looking at the design I can just about guarantee that any of these that are used for offroad touring will crack their chassis, and this can be insepcted by removing the bumper and checking inside the chassis rail.
I'll get around to replacing it with a OOT/ARB 166 litre unit which uses strong body mounts.
