Yeh as the vehicle isnt worth much i am worried they will right it off.It would be a pity as it is a good 4wd that has some reasonable accsessories on it.

Yeh gave me a fright but it didnt seem to worry my two kids that were in the back,The dog was a bit worried though.After the initial swear words(from fright) i managed not to panick to much and get it off the road safely.I was doing about 80kms when it happened and on a straight bit of road.10 mins earlier i was travelling on a winding road.

Couldn't you strip all your accessories off first?

Bummer tho. A similar thing happened to a mate in a MG B. Quick lock hub stripped right off as he rounded a corner on the old Pacific Highway to Gosford.

Break out the chequer plate!! It can fix a multitude of sins!!:D:D:D

Looks repairable to me. I wouldn't bother with the
insurance company.
Strip everything out of the way so you can get at it,
then apply a little heat where needed and use the back of an axe for a dolly and a big hammer. Bash it back into shape and then fine tune it.
Near enough is usually good enough !
A wrikle or two wont ground ya.

ive heard of people having cars written off (W/O based on value vs repair) and then buying it back of the insurance company at scrap value?

might be worth a try?

If its a financial write off i would just buy it back and use the cash to repair it and add more accessories, might be time to add some LRA flares.

Just fix it, its only aluminium...

Insurance: excess, of $500? say...

then they'll argue about your 'no claim bonus'....

you'll get a black mark for making a claim...

if you ever want to go to another insurance company, the first thing they'll ask you is: "have you made a claim in the last five years?"

you say yes and then they want to know 'everything' about your life...

like how did the wheel fall off?

Not sure my skills are up to that but if it is written off i will look at buying it back and see if i can get someone to knock it back and checker plate it.Will wait and see what happens;)

Possably,but are'nt they fiberglass.I had some fiberglass ones on my old surf (until i saw the light) they broke even when i looked at them.
