Its a pitty we cant do our own AULRO show. Members would send in their weekend mud onslught and someone would dedicate a little time in editing etc. Kinda like the program FUEL, where the stut bike segment had mostly submitted footage and was great to watch.

I watched last night for the first time since my last rant about it about 4 weeks ago and was more dissapointed than anything.

I thought as soon as I turned over it was going to be a good eppisode.

An interesting look at a group crossing the simpson but I missed why, some historic crossing or something but once that was finnished the only other interesting bit was about the different battery types on a dual batt system.

In them saying that, Ive run a standard 750cc start batt and a deep cycle with a soloniod system for years and only killed 1 start battery which was nearly 5 or 6 years old as it was 2000 when the battery was fitted and was either early this year or late last year when I changed it which I think is pretty good out of a battery.

The "Your rig" was a crappy near stock 84 Hilux with a 253 fitted and a blown gear box but apparently a good paint job which didnt do much for me and the vid of the week was a Pootrol with a tarp over the front being skull dragged through a bog hole.

The rest was just adds and fill ins and a bit on Mud racing where you go as fast as you can into a bog and break something, then go fix it and do it again.

They have had a bit of LR content, as Andrew Richmond and his brother did CSA and another trip last season and there was a 130 on the simpson thing that was at the start.

I think Simon needs to try a bit harder.

    Do you mean 4WD-TV?

I have downloaded all the episodes that are available from the http://www.wasabitv.com.au/?viewcontent=4WDTV

I think it's great if you compare to the 4wd shows on TV, like NONE!

Yer, sure it has copious adds and in program-adds and review-adds etc but this is a real small budget show and I guess they need the money.
Yes, they have lots of huge trucks ripping up tracks but a fairly extensive wavier at the start.

I would also like to see a bit more, here's were to go for a nice drive, this is how you fit a "whatever" but they have a large viewer base so either they are doing it right or the big TV-co's haven't worked it out the is a market for this kind of show and there is no competition

I suppose it's like Beer you know what you like but on a hot day you'll drink anything that's available

By the way if anyone has episodes that are not listed on wasabitv and want to swap for those that are, (save your download limits) I'd be keen.

Ive got plenty of clips of my Disco doing some great stuff off road (and not ripping up tracks) but I cant be bothered with the time to drop it onto their site as Im only on dial up.

I would also like him to change a few things before he can make $ out of my car being on his show.

If it was a 1 hr show it would be much better as they could space the adds out a bit and not rush through the interesting stuff to push some comp stuff over what most of us do.

I like the idea and I loved most of the earlier eppisodes but it just seems recently that it has gone to the dogs a bit in the sake of advertising and Comp stuff which is where his $ come from.

To Simon Cristy, if it doesnt make him money it doesnt seem to get much of a run regardless of whether it is something that could bring in more ratings.

It would be good if it was picked up by one of the major networks but 31 probably wont give it up in a hurry as it would be one of it's highest rating shows.

It breaches the advertising standards for 31, some states turn a blind eye apparently.

Having produced a few programmes for telly over the years, these guys who do the Channel 31 program are not too bad it, given their lack of budget and lack of other experience.

It is a very difficult job to make an ongoing tv programme (series), especially when there is no clear direction (apart from the title) and very little money.

I agree it could do with a shake and maybe those who see this programme could send nice helpful suggestions to the producers.

What is also constraining producers of programmes where the 'environment' is in the picture is access and usage.

There's a lot of people out there who take humbrage at 4wd people having fun, I'm sure you understand what I mean.

Of course, a major sponsor, such as Toyota, could easily fund a programme, but then those who watch and dont drive the sponsored product would scream of bias.....

    Cheers, GQ
