    Not-quite-so-much-4X4TV

    Hi all,

This should probably go in the rants section, but...

Does anyone else watch 4x4TV on Channel 31? Where are the 4x4s? The only real four wheel drives (by real i mean something that could be driven to work, even if it was on 38" muddies) was in the adds! I saw mud racing, rockcrawling, that weird 'high speed rally on flat dirt roads" thing, reports on batteries and a 10 minute report on the most unroadworthy 4x4 ever gone for a roadworthy (except mine ).

Not a single 4x4 anywhere. Now, i'm not blind to the production issues behind a low budget TV show. They can't show footage of Winch Challenges every week. But why can't "Simon" get a few mates together, head bush, and film a few of them battling some tracks???

If you ask me, they've got a slight taste of the "ratings high-life" and are trying to build a bigger audience. Every 2nd story is from NZ. OK, it get it, they're trying to expand into NZ!

It used to be a "never miss a week" kind of show... even with all the adds and the adds-in-the-show and the adds-in-the-reports .

Just thought i'd see if anyone else feels the same...

I sent them an email requesting more Land Rovers on the show, and (to their credit) they actually answered me!

They said there was enough LR content already (as if!).

I watch it every 3 or 4 weeks to see what they are up to, but not really my style of 4WDing. Still - lots of good footage if you like things that go fast.

There's a LRA add isn't there? So there you go, that's at least 30 seconds a week .

    haha Ditto.

I wish Discovery Channel or National Geographic would broadcast some global trek challenges, like the Land Rover G4 (i think thats what they call it).

    Thats good TV

Not quite true Clarkie! One of the early episodes they show Chris Brain's Swaggi as the viewers rig.

As for watching the show, on the rear occasion I remember it is on, I normally have something better to do!

yeah im not a real fan, one would think that the compare - after doing the show for so long wouldnt sound like its a written script - have you ever listened to him.... sounds like a free to air community radio station interview.....

but at least its a 4x4 show based in australia......cant knock them for aving a go!
