What does he want for the original seats? If they are for sale, I'm interested. Jim
My Uncle has a defender and was wondering if you are able to fit either Disco or Rangie seats into it... I think it's an 02 model and is a 130 series oiler(He doesn't like the Defender's seats)
Any info would be appreciated...
Thanks in advance
Mick

Don't really know, but my guess would be that they would be too wide and would have elbow issues.

Anything will fit if you try hard enough or accept compromise. I have seen it but wouldn't like to try it.

Disco one seats will fit in a defender easy. Really nice , have a bit of bucket to them but not too much, if you have too much can be a pain to get out of in the small amout of space in the defender.
The only problem is putting them in so you can still get to underneth them. But i had them in an old 90 i had once. Fine on the door side and still room for the center cubby box, and because they are not very high in the seat base then they don't sit you much (if any ) higher than the defender ones

I thought you would need to lower the seat box. I did some quick measurements with my wifes Disco & it was 100mm higher to the seat top. I am considering better seats too.

The 100mm higher seats may be a great alternative to raising the seat base and give much better leg room for the passenger with the stupid aircon in the way.

I looked at a County a while back. It had late Rangie Classic seats fitted with a tilting arrangement to allow under seat access, It was very comfortable to drive.
If you do it by the book you'll need an engineering certificate, in NSW anyway.
