Bloody hell anything you do you need an engineering certificate.

Do you need one when you fill up with fuel as it changes the characteristics of the car

Earlier in the year, a new member - from England - introduced himself and I am sure he spoke about his Defender with Range Rover seats fitted. I do seem to remember pictures even. Possibly you could do a search etc., might even be an idea to get in touch with the bloke for a few handy hints.

Have Rangie seats in my 90.

    1) Drilled out indents in the RR seat runners so seat slides all the way off (Easy battery access)
    2) Bolted runners to seat box.
    3) Slid seat on
    4) Bobs your uncle.

Nice and comfy. A little tight for clearance between seat and steering wheel when getting in and out - but this is in a ute, would be much better in a wagon/Crew Cab. Then again no need to get out too often if you never get stuck

Probably do this conversion to my 110 someday.

I had stratos seats. Around 800 a side with the lumbar pump thing. They were SO MUCH FREAKING BETTER!

they gave a slightly lifted position so forward vision was even better and a better feel at the pedals. Goodness knows why L.R. never tried in the first place.

making it all legal- engineers certificate $130 bucks or there abouts.

Access to the under seat stuff- don't worry some engineers permit wing nuts to be used or maybe you could just change them after it has been certified.

Aerotech used to make a dedicated Defender seat with a removable squab, but they were bought by someone else (SAAS ?) so that seat probably went the way of the Dodo....
