You definately aren't the only person to do that!
But it's good when you come out, you know you bought the right car.
You should join a club or group of enthusiasts because that is the best way to learn. The car is probably capable of much more than you think.
I did it on the Bridle Track a while back. I knew there were ruins in the hills and went looking for them. I'd had a quick look at the track up the hill a few months earlier and thought "The fenda can do that easily"
I didn't even let the tyres down.
Now a Defender can take you into a lot of places, add a rear diff lock and it is near unstoppable. NEAR unstoppable!!
You can get yourself much further into trouble in such a vehicle.
Luckily I was able to feed it when needed and ease it when needed and got up the hill. The thought of reversing was quite scary!
When I got to the top I forgot about the ruins and set about finding an easier way down.
I've been 4wding for years and know better!
