I copied this gem from a signature on the Kombi Club web site and it has some very similar overtones to LRs.

It makes your day when a complete stranger passes you by as they're driving, waving like a nutter as if to say "Hey! We're nutters just like you! We bought one too! We're not total strangers, we're all part of the gang! Isn't it fun!"

If they're waving really hard though, check in your mirror that nothing's fallen off.

BTW, after wasting my time waving at about twenty LRs yesterday and not getting one response, I’ve come to the conclusion that you northerners are an unfriendly bunch.

I just had to come back to this thread to recount this WAVING gem.

Wife took D2 to pick up Mother in Law. Was driving along the Gateway & had a few undertakers waving madly. Wife tells MIL that it normal as she sees me & other LR owners waving to each other all the time. MIL comments but there not LR drivers. Wife replies I dunno maybe they want to be.

When they get to the next set of lights a chap pulls along sides honks his horn, waves & signals to roll down the window. Wife ignores him. MIL doesnt know where the window winder is - there isnt one & shes annoyed. They drive off.

Next set of lights same thing. Wife - getting a little peeved by now reluctantly powers down passenger window. Driver along side yells out 'there's a purse on your side step' MIL hangs head out the window - "OMG my purse". 2 sheepish women pull over to verge & recover the purse.

I'm still laughin my head off.

Most Landy owners wave, I get heaps from fellow series drivers, and defender guys/gals, but, yes, unfortunately, disco people don't seem to get it. I get yelled at by the missus, 'what are you doing that for?', it's a Landy thing dear. Hmmm, is the stern reply!

    I got flashed today!

As in the headlights. If it was someone from here, (just outa Wyee). You made my day! Was a very well decked out green beast...I almost u-turned to chase it down!

I make a habit of waving to defenders, 110's n series. I'm too chicken to wave to disco drivers... Sorry to all the guys/gals I'm snobbing.
