Why are you giving the Dawg a hard time. It's his hard earned, he can spend it on whatever crap he wants to.

If you do some searching on other forums people seem to be getting around 17 l per 100 k.
I should imagine we will be paying at least $2 (its $1.60 here now) a litre for fuel soon makes it expensive motoring.
Good fun I'm sure I wonder how the gearboxes will handle that sort of torque in the long term after all Toyota havent been know for great gearboxes.
Must admit I have looked at them with interest myself.
Enjoy mate..... :p
200 Series has a 90 litre fuel tank and NO reserve...
GVM restricts it to a total of 550kg load.... (add fridge, barwork and 2 adults and your done!)
And the 70 series... Love those offroad...NOT... With a rear wheel track 100mm narrower than the front wheels... Try sand and ruts... Its erm... Interesting to say the least
Oh and dont forget to get the salesman to advise you on the cost of the required injection replacement at 160,000kms...
According to a mechanic at Toyota at 160k the injection is to be replaced.. At a cost of... $5000
But hey, to each their own!!!
your 10.3l/100 figure is the very optomistic factory claim.. weve got some at work none of us believed it and to get it to a calculated 10.5 we had to pull everything out of it (including the spare and 1/2 the fuel) and drive around at about 85kph....
funny I did that just recently with a total weight of 3.6 tons includng the big green trailer and got about that milage....
I had a Troopy with Twin locker, High mount, 35's ect.... i sold i to get a Disco as it was the better choice....
A guy in the local club just ordered one of the 76 series Prado/Cruisers and has been told April to June MAYBE for delivery.

Flashtune (chip) A Discovery 3 & get 196Kw with 505Nm. Done for under $1500 driveaway giggling & standback when you brag. Ppl will gag with envy. & that's a conservative map returning good economy. No unsightly box or plugin & LRA cant even tell.
I had just under 180kw on my prev D2 & loved it. Bit pricey towing my 650Hp ute but always got to the show on time, comfortable & fresh.
Current D2 is mildly chipped being modded slowly. Couldnt stand a stock map knowing what they were capable of.
But if you do have to leave the fold - dont forget the wave, maybe you could be the first in a ToyMota to do so. & slap em around when they bag you for it. God damn varmits. :):)
What goes pop! We hear about this from time to time on here, but nothing specific about what goes pop. I need ammo to fire at my mates that are cruiser mad and think the V8 diesel is gods gift to man and should be worshiped by all, I need to know what goes pop! :D
