and new regs come into force. NSW fisheries

From 1 December 2007 the minimum legal length of Murray cod will increase to 55 cm and fishers can keep only one fish more than 100 cm in length. There is a daily bag limit of two per person per day and a total possession limit of four from either rivers or dams.
For the following season, from 1 December 2008 the minimum size of Murray cod will increase to 60 cm. These changes are to ensure that the fish have the opportunity to reach spawning size.

OK, if you want to explore another section of River, My favorite part is Wemen to Hattah Section. If you drive up to and through Swan Hill, and take a left turn to Managatang, travel north then to Anuallo, take a Hard right follow that trough for about 30 odd km's and you will hit the River at Wemen (between Robinvale and Red cliffs on the Murray, Turn left to get to the Wemen Township once you hit the HWY, but don't blink you'll miss it).
From Wemen (local store) drive back the way you came in and turn off and follow the river when the HWY turns away from it, maybe 3 or 4 km from the store, youll go over a couple of grids and soon enough hit the Hattah National Park, lots of good camping etc and some awsome rocky reefs and good cod catching area's Do't tell any one I told ya !

With the Murray the way it is it may be worth checking the river levels before you go ! My Parents own Housboats in Mildura and keep me informed on whats going on. He's been cathing some really big Yalla's at the moment and a few on lure's !

Anyway maybe thats another area for you to check out ! I spent a week in there one January during a heat wave, have a pic of a thermometer in the shade on a sand bay reading over 65 Deg

    Cheers
