We know how you feel - there are a lot of people here in the emergency services and whether its a road crash, a fire or .... a grain silo. It is never a good thing when you feel so hopeless.
You were absolutely correct to look after the emotional needs of your juniors!
Now just look after yourself.
Our thoughts are with you!

mate you did all you could ,just remember that you are trained to carry out your job to the best of your abilities...and did just that!
unfortunately this time was not succesful but by the same token you did not put him in this situation and no matter people will do silly things without thinking about there safety first.
there needs to be more education in the media/farming community about the use of safety gear ,for example safety harnesses etc so that these things don't happen again!
i hope this helps because it's not your fault!
mate, thoughts are with you....
Again, what can you say? You do something that many of us couldn't handle (myself included) and should be very proud of your successes.
Your sig line is wrong... you obviously do care and many people are better for it.
hi mate
stay strong & give firecare a call for a chat.
i'm also a rural firie & we do the MVA call outs occasionaly & it's gut wrenching to be there and not be able to save a life. but you were there & that's something to remember & be proud of. you make a difference & don't ever lose track of the fact that the majority of the public know it & appreciate it too.

All the best and get the help you need. How lucky we all are that people like you and your team are there for us when we need you.

:( Mate your not alone i feel for you and after 20 years of road rescue and all the rest i know exactly what your feeling I think my self lucky that my wife is also in the service as a radio operator so i have a good ear to chew off when we get home.
so long as you did the best at time there is nothing else to think about and never dwell on what if's!
