Was the snorkel you got the Mantec "new plastic jobby"? They look pretty good and I am keen to see how the filter head goes as opposed to the ram head on the safari. A second filter can never be a bad thing.

I also notice on your 07 Defender thread that you were planning to get the windows tinted. I am actually glad I didn't since the light, factory standard tint is really good. It actually seems slightly darker in full sunlight. Aftermarket tinting for us would also be problematic since the dog's collar scratches the leading edge of the rear sliding windows.

I am getting one of these too. Coming in from UK via WA and it still cheaper than getting a Safari via ARB. I haven't see one in the flesh so I hope I like it.

The thing that is odd is that the centre vents are fixed and chill your gearchange arm on even the lowest setting. Not that I'm complaining - especially on a muggy day like today.
They must've done it to replicate having the vents open. Constant air blowing on you.

Nice ride, enjoy the next decades in it.

Now I have been alerted to the fact that I left one important accessory off my list - side steps.

The vertically challenged domestic gestapo have requested some form of permanent assistance in getting in and out of the vehicle - so side steps are on the list. Because of the height issue, they will need to be those lower, pipe-type ones with a bit of chequerplate on top. My only problem is that due to my total lack of motivation to get said side steps, I will be looking to pick a pair up for about the price of a box of tissues .

Whilst I am p!ssfarting around with the interior lining I thought I would post some more pics showing some of the bizzarre Land Rover trim detailing.

Interesting to note that while the front seats both lack a grab handle to assist getting in and out of the vehicle, Land Rover have chosen to leave in the superfluous rear grab handles for the non-existent 3rd row seats.

And I love the side window surround which is moulded to accommodate the seatbelts - looks like the elephant man.

Finally here is the brilliantly tidy detail where the leading edge of the rear wheel-arch boxes have been delicately altered to fit the new back seats. The painted tape over panel seams is common throughout the vehicle.

Being aesthetically minded I find this sort of stuff fascinating.

Can't quite see from your pictures but are the indicator/lights/wiper switches the same as before?
