    sunday morning coming down

Spent the morning making up and fitting a fume curtain for the defender.
1mm clear vinyl from bunnings, a dozen jean style clips from spotlight and hour or two of marking out, cutting out, and some pop riveting..

    whalla!

air conditioning is way effective now, and very little noise from the load space.. is good.. time for a longer drive :P

You guessed right, its a hardtop.

25mm alloy square tube with 10mm bolts into channel (this was existing)

large jean style clips pop riverted to alloy tube and fitted as normal to 1mm vinyl.

large clips fitted with pop rivets to existing support channel

again large clips fitted with pop rivets to existing support channel

and again large clips fitted with pop rivets to existing support channel

clips fitted to front of 25mm tube..

works really really well i have to say and is up or down in a second or two if needed.

Ive done the same on my D2.
Much easier when you have a cargo barrier to fit it to,a handfull of cable ties and you are done.
The aircon cools the cab much quicker when its been parked in the sun.(mines black)
If you have a cargo barrier well worth doing.

but why pay a few bucks at bunnings when you could spend 50k for a more efficent airconditioning setup

    nice work inc

would consider doing it in my disco but i dont think the dogs would appreciate the lack of oxygen behind the dog guard.

    excellent idea!

I just got a barrier from Taz, (Thanks Steve) if I manage to fit it I'll do the same. My Air is really cold, for about 1 square foot around the vents

If I can't fit it it'll be up for grabs again.
