Removing oil stains from concrete??

how black was the oil....?

if it was black.....then give up now......





if it was just clean hydraulic oil.......then some sort of detergent or acid.......
let it soak in and really get to work on the stain......then scrub it with a stiff broom.....

and then hit it with the gerni again.........



this should fade it........

I got most of it off. There is still a dark streak across my floor, but I have yet to hit it with some acid. All the degreasers are caustic, so will not cut into the concrete. I hope to ge able to get it cleaned up sometime next week.
I have been busy putting stumps in for my extension.

if the hydro acid dont work ont the stain do the whole slab then paint it with patio/outdoor paint, then next time you can just wipe the oil off with a rag;)

ps. the acid will remove the top layer of the concrete, the shiny bit.

I have this other stuff at work called A1 Dissolve.

Spray on Oven Cleaner will move most of it.

Surprised nobody mentioned any of these...

Bicarbonate of soda - sprinkle on, and leave it on. Works okay; my dad used to do this to get rid of the stains under his old triumph when I was a boy.

"Easy off bam" - spray it on, leave 2 minutes, then water and hard bristle brush. Works pretty well.

Sard wonder soap with a hard bristle brush and water. I think this works very well.

NapiSan OxyAction – sprinkle on, wet it and leave for 20 minutes, and then scrub off. Works okay.

Karcher degreaser – spray on, leave 10 minutes (don’t let dry) and pressure wash off. Works great on new spills, okay on old ones.

However, if it has been left for a long time, I have not found a way to get rid of the pale grey shadow…

Concrete is porous. You will never get all of it out. Best you will do is make the stain very light and almost un-noticeable.

I know it sounds funny but it works well as a concretor i have tried everything cheers.Greg
