New Defender 4X4OTY ???

I'm a landrover fan and would love to see the new defender win it, I am seriously considering buying one BUT make no mistake the Jeep Rubicon is one serious 4X4 - diff locks, heavy duty dana diffs, excellent articulation, good ramp over angles - it's only let down is pay load it's the one I would buy if it was purely for it's 4x4 ability

With the Rubicon, I understand that you cant get the factory diff locks with the diesel model, is that correct ?:confused:

The Rubicon is unbelievable value and a lesson to Land Rover and other manufacturers that there is a market for such vehicles at an affordable price. A diesel Rubicon would be nice though.

If it ain't the Rubicon, my money would be on the RRS TDV8, but there will be lots of pressure from the advertising managers at Toyota to see them give it to the Cruiser. ;)

Like I said in my first post - you have to look at the criteria they were judging the contenders on. Very much biased towards offroad ability. Plus I get the feeling many of the judges wanted to give it to the Landrover. Look at how often Defenders pop up in 4X4 Australia articles as mules and support vehicles not to mention the number of magazine staff who own them.
