Why did you choose...?

the stage 1 was my first vehicle. it was always going to be a land rover, but this one turned up at the right time for the right price. economical, tough as nails. i rolled it once and it still goes strong today.

the defender was purchased in pursuit of capability offroad, and a few extra creature comforts. i like the coil springs all round, the disc brakes, and the power steering. a radio is nice sometimes too.

occasionally i think of getting the old isuzu rebuilt with a turbo on it, and then think i might mate it to an R380 and put it in the defender....

i honestly dont think i'll ever own any other type of vehicle.

I was simply after anything old and cheap and tough. By pure luck (was also looking at rusted out Pootrols :o) ended up with the Rangie and would never turn back now. Love the V8! I would never even consider anything but LR now, and being cheap is no longer a factor.

Mine currently has an ocky strap on the handbrake to keep it in place. Been there for years! Even broke once and replaced it with a brand new one! Works great :D

I bought my 81' rangie as it was exactly the same as the one dad had that i learnt to drive in when i was 14(first 4by anyway, 59 zephyr ute was my first car at 12), dad had rangies since 74 so it was only natural that i would own 1 then 2 and now a D1. I would like a fender once the bugs if any get sorted from the new model.
