Hi Folks,
although Baz had brought the interest in a LROC forum on aulro to my attention, i hadn't really seen the need for it since the members of the club that would want to use it are already on aulro.
but since sitting through 5 hrs of pain last night (yes, i have no life) in the form of a special closed committee meeting where this thread was brought to my attention where i expressed my previous sentiments, i can see there is a real need for a closed section of this forum for the lroc members to socialise (for those who can't get to meetings) and so that the club's dirty laundry is not aired in public.
i will contact the rest of the commttee to express my change of opinion on this. for the record.
note that my opinion of there not being a need for a forum doesn't mean that i said no! i just didn't feel it was needed.
as for the problem with the emails, i sympathise. there is nothing more frustrating. there was, and always is, problems stemming from the change of committee in transferring the access to email addresses and unfortunately it's not always given the priority it deserves.
if anyone ever has any problems with accessing any of the committee members, you can email me at publicrelations@lroc.com.au as i check my emails several times a day, or those of you that get the club mag, my number is in there. before putting your whinings on here, contact me or the president - president@lroc.com.au that's what we are here for.

From what I've been hearing, the club is moving closer to self-destruction because of some members of the committee.

Not necessarily true - a good debate over issues can be cathartic and allow people and the club to move on.
Let us hope the 5 hours pain for the committee last night was worthwhile. I guess the grapevine will be active over the next few days and we will know if we can progress on.
My thanks to Barney, Xtreme, RoverOne and the other Committee members as well as Tusker for doing it tough.
