like your self mate I joined the Club for the very same reason and think that there should be more one day trips Medium and hard I'd be interested in what they classify as hard as what we do on a week ends with outer limit 4wd monthly forum members couldn't see it getting any harder
lets face it we all don't have the luxury as yet to go away across Australia with the club family and work commitments I had the impression that majority of people that do go away as such are retired I don't know
but as members now we do have right to voice an opinion and I suggest we go to the next meeting and help the club and not just voice our opinions but help any way thats what I intend to do![]()
OK, i spoke to Matt (LROC Public Relations Officer), he will put it to the committee and if they approve, we will have our own forum section, set up by Dave (incisor) similar to the GCLROC section, of coarse there will be a members only section for club discussion, but this will hopefully give members a chance to meet and interact on a daily basis, in my opinion this can only be good for the club.
Thanks to Dave (incisor) for his help, fingers crossed everyone.
Baz.
Cheers Baz.

Baz,
I ran four trailer friendly trips this year for the LROC -Sydney Branch, and others that could have been, but I didn't get a phone call or an email for a booking from you ol' mate (two of those trips had camper trailers attend), some of them made front cover of the mag like the November issue.
Trouble with the calendar for 2008 its very thin at the momemt with descent trips any where, hurry up and get yours trips up, I'm still debating if I'll list any trips for 2008 at all other than Cape York & thats booked out, like my High Country Trip over December/January.
I've been a member 12 years and have run close to 80 trips in that time & its only in recent times that trailers has become an issue with many more jeriatrics becoming members, in the future I'll be looking at a camper...but not quite yet!
Trailer camping touring realy is a different style of our sport & should be treated as such. I won't go into how many times trailers have ruined holidays & 4x4 trips away here!
[quote/Also i'm not into driving all day pitching camp then packing up next day to go to the next camp, with OR without a camper]
Unfortunately not many trips set up for a weekend in one spot then go home, (I did one in November) & Ophir trip cancelled as it doubled up on Fathers Day, most guys book on trips as they like to travel and cover some ground playing on hills, ruts and bog holes & not returning to a base camp, some are a bit more adventerous some of the time, again...trailer camping a different way of thinking.
Access to the website trip reports and calendar do not require a pass code just log on www.lroc.com.ua , only in the members area where the phone numbers are listed for the trip leaders, so they get no crank emails or phone calls, we couldn't have public relations having to do anything sorting out abusive return emails.
Hi Guys,
I won't acknowledge each response individually, but I'm pleased to see comms happening, which supports the concept of the site proposed by Incisor.
Keep it coming.
Best Wishes,
Hands up other LROC (Sydney) members on AULRO......
Great idea re. an LROC forum on AULRO...especially for those that can't get to meetings...
Cheers Baz.
