Older ones (Series) have been sold off.

Later ones are mostly still in use .

There are plenty of people standing in line to pick up Perentie 4X4 and 6X6 when they do get decomissioned.

Ive seen a photo of a 6x6 rangie but I havnt seen one in person.

The photo was taken on the staircase on Mt Stirling in about the mid 90's and it was a red one and thats all I can remember about it.

As far as the ADF LR stuff goes, ask someone like Blknight to keep an ear out to when they are going to auction.

The 6x6 carmichael range rovers are about. I have seen a photo of one as recently as 6 months ago. Ellard is our resident land rover fire engine expert, he will be able to let you know more on that front.

As for ADF land rovers being sold, they aren't. The series 3 fleet was sold at auctions within a short period of time (say 6 months for most of them). The 110 Perenties are still in service and you could count on two hands how many are in private hands.

As to when they will be sold off, probably sometime around 2015 or later. The army doesn't sell, upgrade and switch the vehicles over as the UK MOD does. A pity really as the australian army 110 perentie have a few features that are unique (such as the chassis to start with! )

yeah where do they auction them i'd love to get my hands on one of those trailers i see being towed behind the landrovers. As they would have the same wheel stud patern and should be purpose built for towing behind a Landrover and be strong to boot.

There is even a Carmichael 6 x 6 in NSW. Saw it 6 months ago in Parramatta. County V8 with coils, 2 door, truck cab with a longer tray (not hi-cap). And I know it was a Carmichael because it had a Carmichael badge on the front fender.

When they are auctioned off, places like pickles will probably get the contract to do it, keep an eye on the REMLR forums to find out

The trailers are land rover pattern hubs, and use land rover rims, but are very popular with collectors and tradesmen alike. the word is that many will be sold off rather soon! Only disadvantage is that most do not have a tailgate!

    It's actually a civy 6x6, not a perentie.
