    2007 Defender CD player won't play MP3s

After reading the manual about how to play an MP3 disk in the CD player I got enthusiastic and made a compilation of about 200-odd favourites in MP3 format on a CD.

However, I have discovered that the unit we get in Austraila will not play MP3s. Just says Error03 when I insert it. Damnation. The UK must get the good one.

    G'day Spudboy

Back to the dealer and BIG WINGE as for $50,000+ you should get the quality gear, and not second class stuff!!!!!! that is just LRA penny pinching,

    cheers

If it's any comfort, I had the same argument with LR when I bought the D3 SE. The manual says a lot of things, MP3 included, but it does not say (and you won't find it on LR's website either) what options are standard in Australia.

So I paid $75 for someone to wire in a lead to the AUX input of the stereo with a 3.5mm plug on the end and I use my MP3 player.

It's probably because they have an upgraded stereo which is an option.

I thought you only get the aux input for an mp3 player and not an mp3 playing cd ?

    Just get rid of it!!!

I am in the process of upgrading to this unit from Pioneer with iPod, MP3, Bluetooth, coffee maker etc etc.

In some respects it would be better if LR just did what they do in the UK for their utilities and supplied no radio, but just a bunch of wires.
