I was under the impression that it was illegal to bodylift a vehicle with SRS airbags, which the D2 has.
Well, i just got a gold label 4wd action mag and it has a very good article about a HSE D2 update running 37" STT's. Has a 2" body lift and 3" spring lift. Does this D2 belong to anyone on here? It's one great looking rig

Normally i would agree with you, but, and this is dependant on the article being trustworthy, the vehicle is repoted as being fully engineered and road registered.
Also mentions that some of the suspension work was done by LRA and some driveline work by Ritters. Surely they would'nt do any work resulting in the car becoming illegal?
Grrr, I can't find this magazine in the stands!!!

OK lets clarify...
Fully engineered does not mean legal, it means an engineer believes it safe.
Local laws prohibit engineering 37s on in any circumstance.
Crash pulse compliance requires testing, round $40k so I doubt he did that.... Also illegal...
Road registered.... It has plates and he pays rego, doesnt make it legal!
HOWEVER, it is impressive!!!!!!
Tombraiders right here.
registerd just means someone belives it to be safe. not legal.
Nice rig though
I know in WA it is now illegal to lift any more than 50mm without RTA certification and clearance. This entails what they call a lane change test and is about $3500 for the test. I think you get two shots at it then your money is blown and you start again. It involves testing the ability of the vehicle to change lanes at speed and also cornering without adverse effects. It can be done legally but all costs money. There are plenty of vehicles here that do not have this certification and are 100mm plus lifts. There has been some confusion as to what constitutes a lift, with some under the impression that body and suspension lifts are seperate. They are not, it is the combined total of the lift including tyres, suspension, body lift and things like portal axles. The way most police do it is to measure from the centre of your headlights to the ground, too high or too low and you are getting a canary.
Even with correct permits from the RTA I have known Police to put vehicles off the road.

dad (hes in WA) had a hell of a time with lara as she sits higher than a stock deefer when shes standard due to the tombraider edition thing... that played merry hell with him....
Ive even been pinged once in big red when I had the side steps off as it "looked" too tall from the side when it measured up as on spec I was let off, still a hassle having to goto the RTA to get the ticket cleared tho.
