Is there much 'shut down' work going these days or do companies do more preventative maintenance during the year?

When I worked for a labour hire company, I would be placing sparkies, fitters, boilermakers, welders, god knows what else at places for perhaps a week stretch, 12hr shifts, 7 days = fantastic money but gees they worked for it. Well, some did :angel:

I phoned my father tonight. Well, I tried. It seems he's moved but I don't know to where. I guess I'll have to ring one of my brothers (3) or sisters (6) . Hang on, I can't ring my brothers, I don't know where they live, either. Come to think of it, I'm not sure of where my sisters live. I tried one of them tonight but that number is disconnected. I guess she's moved too and, like Dad, she's not in the phone book.

Ah well, never mind there's always next year.

I heard from my Dad and step mum, my Ex wife :(:(, my little sister is staying with us tonight and my auntie and her GF just left and we went to lunch with my in laws.

I am lucky that I didnt hear from my older sister or my Mum as I only hear from them when someone dies though I wish I could have spoken to my niece who turned 2 today but she lives in WA and was in perth today and not contactable through her Dad.
