RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
Hi Sprint, I don't know how many were made but I own one. Mine is ex-Telstra and came with a very good aluminium box body on the back which was the main reason I bought it, plus the extra cab gives me very comfortable leg room.I am quite tall and found standard cab utes too cramped. The build quality of the cab is low, at least on my vehicle, with no proper door pillar at the catch end which contributes to cab shake and rattling doors.Cheers, 130man.
Is this what you mean? This is my ex-Telstra 130:

hmm..... first time i'e seen one like that, shame its a TD5 though
seen a few similar but as traybacks..... i believe they were an option circa 1997
TD5 has been no problems. I've got a 300TDi too and the TD5 is nicer to drive.
This is a 2002. There are a few around but they are not up for sale all that often.
I am 6'3" so the legroom argument got me. The seats were already moved back about 3" by Telstra. There's not a whole lot of room behind the seats, but enough for an air compressor, jack, sleeping bag etc type of gear. Keeps it dry.
what do you think of the TD5?
Well it's not as good as the Puma 2.4, but it's got more grunt than the 300TDi! And they are tweakable by upgrading the ECU which is quite cheap.
I like them. Others don't. Mine has given me no grief. Others have horror stories (maybe more in Discos than Defenders). I don't mind the electrics, but I work in IT and they are everyday to me.
See the current TD5 vs 300 thread raging at the moment! http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-...di-vs-td5.html
