old paint or new? does it have a clear coat?
well not a new paint really
its on my 96y discovery metallic green
dont know if its got a clear coat of not but the polish suits all paint types including clear coat
The only reason I ask is because I have a java black disco and if you dont use the right pads on a dark car you see all the swirl marks in the sun I use Meguires Scratch X
Polish, polish a landy ? you guys got too much time on your hands, i have never polished a vehicle and never will - except for my FC holden that is.
Hi Lou,
I wash my bus with Track Wash (yellow-green staff 15L for $22.00 from Auto Parts) and apply Turtle Wax (green $8.99) white cup. Sometimes Red cup (white staff $14.95) to remove scratches. Do it right, apply like cosmetic mask, let it dry 10-15 minutes and polish with car polisher (12" for ~$40.00 from K-Mart). I do 2 coats including all side/back windows. All it not expensive and does the job.
Also recommend you Water Disrersant (hope correct spelling) to spray everything under bonnet $2.00 from Cheap as Chips, and CRC-56 (20 L drum for $110.00) all bottom parts: chassis, axels, transmission.., everything. Protection and... less mud/dirt comes to your home after offroading.
The first question you will get from your friends "Have you got new car?!" ;)
Cheers,
Ruslan
