Thread: Stir the pot !

Now why did you have to stir up that hornets nest...its well known that the Discovery is the better vehicle!!

For me the Disco is "better" as we only have one car and we want something that is comfortable (of which the defender aint), something that is economical (of which most of the rangies I can afford arent!) and something that is very capable offroad and in tough situations which I definitely think the Disco is!

If I was wanting a tough as nails and basic vehicle for an around Australia trip then I would get a Defender no question. If I wanted a luxurious toy then I would go for the Rangie (RRS TDV8). And of course if I was out of my mind I would get a Freelander!! lol

Its really horses for courses though...and that the brilliance of Land Rover. They make a vehicle to suit all sorts unlike Toyota and Nissan who only make 4wd's for boof heads (excuse my gross generalisation).

But seriously...the Disco is the ultimate 4wd for me at the moment. Its good around town, economical but can also be kitted up for a tough day trip or for a 3 week desert trip. I have the best of all worlds....
