I have seen this example u have, some of the 1940 machines were wierd they didnt have hatches and what not, but from 41 they had a standardised 3 ton cab, my model was 11T, mine also had the car steer box which was strange, mine luckily was in god condintion, think from memory standard F100 tie rods ends fitted, I replkaced every nut and bolt with Hi tensile stuff, I had a purpose for mine orignally but it never came to bear fruit, the grilles are real rare!

    G'day Graceysdad

This vehicle is also marked Ford 11T 1 ton on the firewall, engine bay is identical with the photo, it still has the split Radiator core, and the oil can holder is still there and so is the spare spark plug holder.

    cheers

She was so easy to start with a crank handle, I modernised the motor somewhat electrically, converted to 12 volt, electric fuel pump etc, went first go every go regardless how long it sat for, the pushrod in the fuel pump stand used to keep wearing down and it would stop, so buggered that off, carby was rebushed in the shaft, went really well

Hi Ho. For Ford military bits, try John Haken. He advertises in Restored Cars. He was at Jimboomba but has moved out beyond the black stump to Glenmorgan. If your landlord was in 5th. Division he must have been bloody ancient as this was a WWI outfit, the Eggs-a-cook, first commanded by Monash. Or was there another 5th. in WWII?
