Can't express how deeply sorry to hear the tragic news. We lost our shepherd in June. We still think about him and miss him. Got the sIII registered today & immediately thought of ours cause he used to love riding in the back.

Absolutely gorgeous dog from the photos you put up. You can't find a better friend than a dog, they have the type of qualities us humans can only aspire to.

All the very best to you and your family.

Thanks for all your kinds words and comments, its hit my oldest 2 quite hard, they don't want to talk about it. As Justin says ( sorry to hear about your horse mate), I think the older children find it harder. My son reminded me of when I was around the same age and I lost my first shepherd, 30 yrs later still impacts
i assume you've buried him at your new property so will have a beer with him when over next
I was asked what I wanted to do with his body and have got them to bury him. It still hasnt left me having to bury Benz and I wanted the last memory I had of Diesel to be that of him alive, but up for a beer in his memory ( dunno what phone you have been ringing mate but havent got any calls??). All in all just not the same without him

    Regards

    Stevo

I think some people who are not animal types underestimate the bond between a man and his dog, that bond is a strong as the bond you have with your own kids, reading your post nearly reduced me to tears again with memories of my boy who left me late last year still very fresh, there is no doubt I think a piece of us dies with them when they leave, finish this now I think, sorry mate.

I hate ticks more, it was more likely the tick that finished him off, despite having a tick collar and regularly getting Frontline. Had they found the tick earlier, chances are he'd be back home running around, well at least recovering. Either way, nothing will bring him back home.

Yeah mate it does, especially losing 2 dogs in 8 mths, both before their time. Sitting outside having a coffee without him by my side just aint the same.

Until I got a dog I didn't understand how attached people could get to them. Sorry to hear of your sad news - especially since our bloke is also called Diesel.

Sorry to hear that news Stevo.

He had a great temperament for a Shepard and I thought he was going to get through the last tick episode and be fine, so gutted to hear this.
