Hi Craig, we actually decided to head up to Kalgoorlie rather than Esperance (I wanted to turn off before Norseman and take the 4x4 tracks to Esperance - but some of the others wanted to get back to Perth earlier). We plan to head down to Esperance sometime soon though, so would be great to meet up then!

OK - you asked for it!
It isn't often you find something slower than a Series Landie
Just after picking up our mates in Sydney:
Everyone should know where this is?
We arrived when Summernats was on. Holdens and fords everywhere, and just as many cops:

Saw a few small snakes (and even some snow!) in the alps. Who can identify this little fella?
Great (FREE) camping spot in Kosciuszko NP. We were amazed at how many free camping spots we found in NSW and VIC (Especially VIC).
Vic alps were fairly dry (snowy river):
Some water around though...
Had lots of fun exploring the 4x4 tracks... So much fun we didn't take many pics

The Nissan did the first tyre while we were driving through the Vic alps. A righ proper job they did too!Still not sure if it was staked first, or went flat and then failed (tyre was hot and sidewall well scrubbed by the time it was detected).
Fitting the second spare (tyre) onto the rim (Nissan had 2 spare tyres, only one spare rim). My York compressor seated the beads easily (with the help of some detergent).
Some crazy girl doing a handstand on the edge of a cliff on the great ocean rd
The famous Bells Beach (bugger all surf that day unfortunately - just as well I didn't have the surfboard).
Great Ocean Rd somewhere I think...

When the weather was good enough we didn't bother with tents
We started collecting pictures of all the funny stuff painted on all the "Wicked Campers" we saw

Nothing beats camp oven cooking. We bought half a goat at the queen victoria markets when we were in Melbourne. It tasted great!
Letting the tyres down is quicker when you have helpers
