Delvac 1 pricing

From memory its the CAT ECF-1 oil. CAT (Aus) were actually getting their oils through Mobil. I assume this is still the case.

Thanks DM. I'll be checking on this with the local Westrac branch too. I just paid almost $200 for 10 litres through Repco in Kalgoorlie.

and it's the same in the US.
Just look at the specs. If it's a 5w-40, CI-4 or CI-4+ oil, it'll be re-badged Delvac 1.

Alison Transynd synthetic oil is Castrol Transmax Z.

FWIW, the last lot I bought was $205/20l from Lowes Petroleum, Tamworth 3-4 months ago.

Cat - West track Wetherill Park knew what I was talking about, eventually.

20 litre price would have been $305.

Only available was two x 55 gallon drums in WA.

Don't they do metric in WA?

Lubes Direct Taree, 20 litres $214.50.

Time for a holiday.

Anything repackaged with a Caterpillar label is going to be a good bit more expensive than from the original maker. This is the nature of the beast. A Shire Engineer once said to me that you pay a premium for Caterpillar equipment and then pay it again for spare parts. Once upon a time all Caterpillar filterts were by Donaldson. The Donaldson retail outlets, then called Duralife Filters, could not sell them under the Donaldson name unless the local Caterpillar distributor gave permission. Waugh & Josephson (then) in NSW OK'd these sales, but Hastings Deering in Qld. would not. Quite a few people did their homework on crossover numbers and bought from NSW.

For what it's worth, I use Castrol RX Super in the Isuzu and this is currently on special at Qld. Diesel Spares for $87/ 20 litres. Usually around $120.

When I lived in Alice we called them RIPCO cos' they added 10% for freight for everything, even a small tube of glue:o
Same with the previous LR "service"(NOT) in Darwin at the LR dealer. He charged $116 for the oil change in the D2($64 in Adelaide). I went to the distributor and he said the transport cost for liquids was 20c/litre from down south.:D so I bought a 20ltr drum and found another LR service guy:)
