Are you talking about thwe ordinary sized UHF aerials?
Or are you considering an HF radio and big Aerial?
UHF... Don't worry, just use your existing CB mount.
When I got my UHF rig, they looked at the CB mount and just gave me an adapter. It all worked first time.
As for the mains electricity, I did what the others have suggested... I just used a 4x way UK extension block and changed the plug for an Oz spec one when I arrived. Loads easier.

Thanks for information so far. The existing CB mounting will do for the UHF aerial. Thanks
Another question. I would like to spectate at the Outback Challenge. I have been on their website and their are the dates for the 08 event. On the spectators page everything seems to refer to the 07 event.
Can anyone shed light on how to register/pay as a spectator for the 08 event?
Regards
Brendan
The antenna type you will be most successful with is a ground indendent one with spring base simliar to the 317UC on the link below. Simliar ones can be bought in most radio shops, Dick Smith etc here and even in the auto places now.
POLAR : CB/MOBILE/PORTABLE > ANTENNA > UHF MOBILE ANTENNA GROUND INDEPENDENT
I like that idea Ali. Top notch. :BigThumb:
I just might fire off a couple of emails and see what happens

Brendan
PS Think I might just owe you a :twobeers: Ali
