    Questions for upcoming Aus trip

Its the start of the New Year and time I got on with the serious prepping of the 110 for the 08 Aus trip.

So here are a few questions for you helpful Aussie guys

What hole diameter is needed for a UHF aerial ounting plate?

Any recommendation for a shipping/handling agent in Sydney? Preferably one who is into LR/has imported them before

Any recommended independent LR dealerships in Sydney?

Air compressors. What are recommendations for air compressors in Aus? Engine driven or 12volt?

What 240v plugs/sockets are used in Aus? Standard rectangular 3 pin UK style or ????

Thanks for your help in advance and a Happy New Year to you all

    Regards

    Brendan

Air compressors. What are recommendations for air compressors in Aus? Engine driven or 12volt? i run a bushranger max-air for my lockers and general air including airing up....seems to do the job, 12V

A good tip for your electricals is to bring with you a 4-way power extension / power board from the UK. Then change to power plug when you get here and you'll have x4 sockets for all you gear and only need you change 1 plug.

Thanks for your replies so far.

Have anyone got a photo/diagram of the base of a UHF aerial which they could post up please? Reason being never having seen a UHF aerial want to make sure that the aerial will not foul on light bars etc.

Or possibly point me in direction of a suitable website?

    Regards

    Hi
Its no real differance to a large CB areial

Go into Maplins (if you are still in the Uk) They do them there
Also there are loads of differant types and shapes. So it is not one standard shape or size. Like CB ariels that come in 101 differant sizes and shapes. you can get Bumper mounted , roof mounted, windscrean mounted . So it up to what you want. I would stop worrying and wait till the truck lands and then go and hunt down an ariel

Go to google.com.au and do a search for UHF + Antenna and specify sites from Australia.
