I finished at 7am today. Because the shift started at 11pm Thursday, it was a Thursday shift and today is my RDO despite 7 hours of the shift being done today - we call them pyjama days as you are pretty much wiped out for the day.

A bit like when I used to work 10/14 shifts the first 'day off', you had already worked 8 hours.

Anytime I feel like, I work for myself (although I don't get paid for it ) so I can take off when and what time I like as long as the job's finished.

Having flexable hours is one of the perks of being self-employed.

    Errr Ah Hmmmm!

You know - if it wasn't for the Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, hospitals, electricity generation, taxis, bakeries, air traffic control, newspapers, TV and Radio stations, petrol stations, etc. etc. We could all work 9.00am to 5.00pm on Monday to Friday - but hey Ron's out there doing it while others sleep.

The worst of it is when they bring you back for a 6.30 am start so you don't even get the whole 24 hours of your ADO off.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Every second fortnight is supposed to be my ROD days (Rostered Off Duty), as I work 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. OT gets in the way sometimes (a lot lately) and that means 3 weeks on and 1 week off

Sat and Sun but I do earn flex.
I have also managed to bring my annual leave down to 50 days give or take plus I have 3 months long service leave still!
