I dont think a roll bar would have done much for the first pic or the 3rd maby an exo cage but id still doubt that even ... That first pic looks bad do you have any more info on weather people were killed and how they happened ....
Well, if not have a look at this for convincing your partner

First pic looks like a side swipe.
The lack of any attention to structural safety by LR in the 110/90's wouldnt be quite as inexcusable if they werent so easy to roll. I have a series of photos taken during testing by the army of the 110's that show it rolling during a simple swerve test on the bitumenIt no wonder the NAS Defenders all had to have external cages to be sold in that market.
I've just fitted a roll bar to my 110 truck cab. Feel a fair bit safer now but the A pillars really need something. Exo cage is definitely under consideration.
I really, really really really need a roll bar at least. Just sitting inside my stage one and looking at the structure of everything above the firewall leaves no doubt that should I roll my car, the roof will be level with the bonnet!!!
At some point i'm going to try and make one that bolts onto the chassis between the cab and tray. I really do need it for the 4wding I do and my lead-footness.

When I made my county into a dual cab, I couldnt believe
the lack of support for the roof & my head, a roll bar was
fabed up but not fitted. Its gone now but the def. tray back
will get one.

I would like to have the opinion of the members about which type of bar they believe that would be more effective, the internal roll bar of the external cage with a roof rack incorporated.
The A-pillar is very weak. I would prefer the external cage with a roof cage. The front bars inside the front fenders.
I dont want it competition approved just strong enough that I might keep my head on my neck in the case of a roll over.
To import to Australia just to prohibitive. Does anyone make an external cage here in Sydney as I would consider it for my project car.
As a minimum I will have a roll bar on the tray top.
David
I have a full external/internal cage on my 90 and I am gald I do, but I never really felt at risk on the road atall before I did. Its nice having it but I mainly fitted it for the off road safety side of it.
It was a lot of work doing it though!
