    decision?

    I have seriously been considering selling all of the Landies and getting a isuzu county or a 300tdi or TD5 Defender. Sorry not that impressed with the new one enough to fork out 55k.

    The kids are a bit older now, all of our activities are either smelly, dirty or all of the above. I can see it will eventually take a toll on the D2's interior. We need a complete hose out vehicle. We could always do with the extra tiny bit of room and allthough we appreciate it we don't really need all the luxuries in the D2.

    Oh what to do?

    I am the same dobbo, the only difference is that I do not have any more kids (4 grand kids, yes )
    What I have been thinking is that apart of the disco being a bit to small for long trips, mine one is in a very nice condition and if I take it to the bush within half hour will have few scratches on the side panels and the value of the vehicle will drop couple of thousand dollars. For some reason a plain white County or Defender can take few scratches and it seems to me that are easy to fix. At least that was the case with my old 109.
    I cannot justify spending 40.000 plus in a Defy which in many cases is plain and I will have to spend another 6 or 8 thousand dollars to bring it to expedition standards. I rather spend 8 to 15 thousand dollars in a vehicle in good condition and overhaul it to my satisfaction. For up to 25.000 I will finish with a very good rig.
    So.....my Disco is on the market and I am considering a County diesel as part payment if somebody body is interested.

    I would seriously consider a good isuzu county as a replacement for my disco although i have never driven one long distance or for any length of time.

    Buy a D3. Other people in debt make me feel better. More so when the mud gets in and they realise their debt is getting dirty and depreciating more than perhaps intended.

    Id recommend you get the tdi300 or the suzi, you will kill a td5....

    phil reckons the chassi in a 300tdi deffy will bend easier than that in a td5
