    Rides

Did anyone catch the show Rides last night on the Discovery channel . Was a show about 20+ modified 4x4 rigs running 3 tracks over 3 states in the USA. I think the smallest 4x4 was a jeep running a 350chev and 35inch tyres . The biggest was another jeep with a big block and 42inch tyres .

I loved the first thing said to the drivers at the start of the show ..." It is guaranteed that you WILL damage your truck " . And they all did . from broken steering to busted axles and to one front end being completely ripped out . Funniest part was one bloke said he had never had his jeep stuck and didn't think he could get it stuck ..... In this show he had to use his winch at least 3 times . Anyways it was a great show and hope most of you got to see it .

I would have loved to have seen that show.
Premier power welders make some great underbonnet welders - including a mig attachment. You will see just as many 4x4 with under bonnet welders in the states as there are dual battery systems in Australia.
The vehicles would most likely been trail only rigs and I would bet that the smallest axle being used would have been a Dana 60.
There are alot of Jeeps running big block hemis now that they are back.
In the USA the only killer to vehicle mods is the California emission laws.
