Maybe its leaf for pickups or something - but how many of us have Defender utes?

I actually like the look of these cars - very rugged and appealing to the eyes.

Even if Tata do buy LR i doubt they will be screwing up what sales there are by trying to build them in India with Indian powerplants except for local market maybe, no one would buy a RRS or D3 with a Tata donk in it would they ?

If Tata do buy Land Rover - there would be nothing to stop them phasing out Defender production in the UK and concentrating on the RR and Disco models with the UK workforce and set up a new Defender production line in India.

Provided they concentrated on producing a reliable design or traditional markets and the developing world, there would be nothing to stop them recovering some of the sales lost to the Japanese and US marques.

Will be an interesting time to see what happens at least.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

It would be fantastic to see the Santana out here.

Do they still have an Iveco engine in them?

I really don't like the look of them to be honest... The grill and those twin headlights just doesn't sit well with me.

The real thing that bugs me is that it sort of resembles a defender... but it definitely ain't a defender.

In my opinion santana had it right with this one (It's pretty much 99% landrover ):

Yep, Santana has leaf springs - if you look at the specs/ dimensions page for the commercial/ domestic series it clearly shows front & rear leaf springs on the Anibal wagon.
