Dust and muck on the condenser can play a vry big part in the efficiency.
Take it to an air line and give it a good 'blow job'
It may just be that
Mine will pull down to below -20 no idea how much further to as the analog temp gauge I put in there pegged at -20.
It can be a problem with the electrics the older units as they begin to fail slowly shorten their max runtimes before they overheat and turn off.
you often dont find out about them dying untill they die totally.
my 12v side has died entirely but the 240v side works fine... running off of a 150w pure sinewave inverter it now draws less from a battery than it did when it was working properly.... dont ask me how that works...

its only a few years old.........so i guess that rules out old age......
as for dust......thats a possibility........though i havent done an real touring or many dirt roads for it to be that clogged up.......
but i will pull it out and check it......and give it a good blow out........wouldnt hurt to make sure its clean........
will report what i find when i blow it out.........
