This is a result of a barely legal franchising/pyramid marketing scheme that has numerous levels of profit taking between the manufacturer (often not Snap On, but someone unnamed who puts Snap On brand on their product) and the retailer in the van. Top quality hand tools are Armstrong, Allen, Proto, Britool, Beta, Dowidat, Stahlwille, and Gedore.
