OK. Trailer was a bust. Rig is now back again!
Anyone with some ideas on how to shift the 130? We do have a chainsaw.

Does anyone know of a decently balanced trailer big enough to carry the 5m length x 2m width x 2.25m short 3- 3.5t vehicle? The County will tow it slowly, very bloody slowly but it will get it there, we just need the trailer. Preferably around the Newcastle area.
The is a good hire place in Canberra - I got my trailer there on Sat to bring my FC 101 back from Newcastle on Sunday - oh you want one in Newcastle - sorry U haul ones at Belmont are only rated to 1500kg but I am sure they would carry 3 tonne - I guess they put that limitation because of the 2 tonne towing rule.
What happened to the trailer - where did it come from?
Garry
Original trailer got mangled last night. The one we tried came from the servo at Natex. We found doing anything over 60km/h or being passed by a truck and the Rangie was all over the road. It's also been bad weather up this way. Trailer is now halfway back to Canberra. 130 has been unloaded.

yeah howd you mangle the trailer? the 130 go too far forwards or back and bend the A frame.
the 130 apparently has reverse just flip the diffs over.
Garry where did you hire the trailer from?????
Hi Steve - from Absolute Trailer Rentals on Wanniassa but you can also pick up in Holt. They are a business operating from a backyard but are very professional. Over the years I have used their trailers many times - $88 per day - $100 extra deposit.

This is the trailer I used - http://www.aulro.com/afvb/attachment...01-trailer.jpg

my truck as`towed weighed about 2.2tonnes. Of interest as the front wheels of my truck went up the ramp of the trailer, the weight was enough to lift the rear of the Kennards tow truck off the ground by about 3' - hence my truck is a little further forward than I would have liked as I thought the weight of the rear of the tow truck was a bit light.
So this trailer was strong enough to tow my truck as well as act as a lever to lift the tow truck off the ground - same happened when I off loaded but not as high.
Cheers
Garry

Hire a 5t flat top truck, just need to locate a load ramp either end.
OR get a length of steel pipe and build a tow tube, flat tow at 80/90ks easily.
Both much safer than a trailer.
