If you live in a regional urban area in SEQ outside Brisbane then you can most likely afford the space and money (left over from your tiny, tiny rates bill) to put in a tank - so good luck to you.

...For the record, I am paying in the vicinity of $1000 per quarter for rates . This may help people understand my ire.

I'm pleased you had nothing to do with my tanks, given what you have said.
I have spent a small fortune on "First Flush", screens and other devices to sopt stagnate water, insects and frogs from adopting a home.

More Dams are NOT the answer, smarter water saving and desalination IS the answer. If you look at the so called "Greenie" global warming, the sea is going to increase in height!
Fair enough, take water from the sea...

It is not rocket science, just logic.
Something that the State Labor Government is lacking.
I won't even start on the federal...

Have you any idea how much electricity desal uses? not exactly the green aproach.

Just ignore the restrictions then, you obviously have a good idea on how much water you use. Water restrictions were made for people who do not have any idea about water use. It is why Target 140 was a good idea as this made people think about their water usage. For me I calculate my usage every rates bill and it has been about 90 litres a day for the past 3 years. If I want to use 20 litres a month washing my car I will.

solmanic our tank water is really good. I'm not sure why (I keep the leaves out). It's clear and tastes like tank water and the fish love it. It's great on the cars too. Even if they were to drop restrictions I'd keep using it for all my outdoor washing.and so on.

Excuses, excuses - someone who shall remain nameless (but who now owns a Defender 110 - Cairns Blue) told me that you don't venture out if there's a chance the loved one might get "dirty"! Obviously this carries over to the Alfa.

I insinuated that may be the case, purely based on the condition, and the only dirty thing I could find was the windscreen washer bottle!

And dog hairs... they will be there till im ATLEAST 80.

De-Sal isnt viable.... We'd need to go Nuclear to power the suckers...

Dams ARE the answer.... Thats how water has been stored for eons, both naturally and artificially...
