Jonsered is a good little domestic saw....:D
On the side of maintenance and storage, when you are not going to use it for a while empty out the fuel and oil and run it until it runs out as this stops the fuel from separating in the tank/lines and carbi as well as stops the diaphram in the carbi being attacked by the ethanol in the petrol which will cause it to harden and make it difficult to start.
On maintenance, keep it clean is the main rule, clean air filter, clean spark plug, clean bar and clean case will make it stay good for years and give you faultless service.
Also if using air to clean out the bar, dont spin the nose sprocket as the bearing will break and send bits of sprocket flying and you can get a small grease gun that puts a shot of grease into the sprocket bearing which is pretty cheap, last one cost me $7 from the mower shop, just plastic with a thumb trigger on it which helps keep rust and misture out of the bearing.
Theyre not scarey once you know how to use them properly so I suggest you do a course and then decide if you want to get a saw, most of them will provide a saw for you at the course.
Yes, a course would be a good idea. I think one needs certification to use them in a lot of places, now.
got it today, looks the goods and works a treat, ill take some pics tomorrow
