Yeah they are bloody cute :D, was hard to walk away and not take one home that day, though they are only 6 wks old atm. Always had shepherds from a youngish child, love other types of dogs, but shepherds are my favourite :D. Not cheap the purebreds, but worth it in my book, the father who I will get pics of when we get Maxxy, is a German Import, strong, masculine dog, I just wish time would hurry up...getting impatient :),

Yep no chances this time, have sprayed a 2 metre barrier on the otherside of the fence and another part overgrown is currently dying from spraying so all clear around. And I can tell ya, I even see a hint of a brownie in that perimeter, it will become fertiliser:twisted:,

Another " jungle trick " is to lay nylon mesh about 1.2 metre wide ( holes slightly smaller than chicken wire ) along the routes where they may travel , secure the edges but leave enough slack to allow the b******s to crawl under, they get part of the way through stick there heads up through the mesh and find they cant pull it back. Check regularly and as you find them you may then relocate them ??

Might have to look at that whilst he is a young pup. Overall I think it was more bad luck with my other shepherd. We are on an acre now, we were on 8 acres before and you only ever saw snakes...bar one...that was close to the house, more in the bush area's. The backyard that was fenced in was close to an acre and never saw snakes...bar a green tree snake up at the pool and that was I feel cause the dogs roamed that area, so on the whole the snakes took a wide berth. With Diesel the one that died from a snake bite, probably a case of curiousity killed the dog :(,
