LPG more than ULP in 2010

Read in the paper today that LPG will cost more than ULP by 2010, makes having a diesel look like the way to go.

I did'nt see that one, probably the Sun
It would be correct in so far that LPG might cost what ULP costs today by then.
And of course ULP will be $2.20 a litre.

Find it hard to fathom that a locally produced fuel will cost more then ulp. I am aware of tax increase etc... but.... I don't see it. I have to admit I'm starting to get concerned with cost of diesel.

what only now you have started to become concerned

Its certainly not good. We are pumping oil from the ground at the fastest rate possible (according to an article in 4x4 Australia, written by a guy who went to some environment thing in shanghai where the big man from shell spoke) so as the demand for fuel goes up supply cant. Over the next few years the price of fuel will sky rocket as china becomes a more wealthy planet and people can afford cars. At the moment only about 30 or so people in every 1000 can afford a car, in australia its more like 700, when China's ratio rises to the same as Australia's the number of cars on world roads will double, but fuel production cant. A bit off topic i know but it helps explain why the cost of gas might go up.

I do know that in 2010 there was going to be some tax or something applied to gas that would make the price go up 12c/L but that doesnt explain why it will be the same cost as ULP.

    Stop reading propaganda.

Use your head, can you imagine the outcry of the population, as LPG rises by 60-70c/L in 18-24 months?!

Keeping in mind the 2011 elections, there is no way KRudd would shoot himself in the **** like that - he is too cunning and deceptive for that.

i dont think the outcry will do anything, after all what has the outcry done about the rise in ULP and Diesel, there are bigger powers driving the cost of fuel and our cries of pain mean nothing to who ever it is.

Having said that... ULP roughly costs the same as LPG in raw form, what we pay at the pump is 50% tax added onto the ULP.

If the government increased LPG tax, effectively making the cost $1.50/L - well... no government is that stupid, at least not within this election.

Keep in mind its now 2008, ULP floats around $1.40/L, in 2003 it was nudging $1.05/L... 5 years and 35c/L, 2 years and 80c/L - tell him he's dreamin'

I heard the outcry when LPG hit that price. We still have to pay it or stop using LPG. It is normal to so LPG at 70 and even 74cpl round these parts.

When I had LPG fitted to my F100 in '94 (think it was '94, it was a long time ago) LPG was 14 cents a litre.

    Hear the outcry.

    What outcry.

    Cheers
    Simon
