There was me thinking it was suppossed to be the Brits who was whinging bar stewards!

As a Brit I was not offended! Well not too much any way.

LR do need to sort out build quality and ensure that faults are rectified ASAP with minimum inconveinence to the customer.

    Regards

PS Is this where I start insulting the inhabitants of the Great British penal colony????

I love the Landy's but ... when I had my defender - each time it rained; those in the front got wet feet (really wet).

So many theories - such little time.

    I know how you feel.

    leaks

I am used to all the leaks on my 109" but was hoping for far better quality on the new unit.
Guess from all the replies I had better get used to it.
I just hope that the pannel beaters don't rip everything apart and don't fit all the bits back as they were.

I've had mine for 3 months now and not a single leak, but I am cheating because actually it hasn't rained here for 3 months!

Sorry to hear of your dramas. It's the hassle of it all that's the downer. Hope they give you a suitable loaner whilst they sort it out
    Cheers

The leaks are why I bought my 110. In fact after driving my 110 for a few weeks and jumping back in the Discovery the TD5 in the disco sounds like an electric pencil sharpener in comparison to the 4BD1.

The leaks and creaks are the appeal of the vehicle.

It is common fact that British born folk love to whinge, bitch and complain.

If there is nothing to whinge about, something is obviously wrong, so, we will make something up to whinge, bitch and complain about. This mystery complaint is usually very complex, like the

"It's making a noise, it isn't happening right now, no I can't describe it. The car is making a liar out of me"

These faults are time consuming and costly to diagnose and repair. (not very productive)

Your roof is leaky for a reason. It's an obvious flaw and is simple to fix.

    Think British
Because you have something to whinge and complain about. you are assisting to create labour for the panel beaters, numerous amounts of paperwork between beurocrats in LR dealers, head office. Meetings between middle management, technicians, engineers and folk on the production lines. (these in turn help out the catering companies and tea farmers)

Your simple complaint creates enough work to employ up to 50 people world wide for up to 8hrs (dependant on job at hand). My friend, your complaint (though it seems to non British folk to be just a little cog in the big gearbox of life) is helping to improve the British economy.

    well

Turns out there is a large gap between the two rear side panels and the lower panel. The seal is not even squeezed properly and I can fit a butter knife in between the gap almost all the way around from the rear passenger door all the way to the 5th door.
They say they will not have to rmove the complete roof buts just lift it enough to fit a new seal and then tighten the whole lot down again.
Wheel alignment is OK now (Toe was way out) and the passenger door closes lile a dream again.
I also asked why the trailer light only operates when the trailer is connected and on the left indicator only - tells me thats OK. not too woried about that but seemed strange.
Now I am slightly less mad than I was eralier.
Going to have a few beers now.
    Cheers
