I didn't look to closely as I've had a Brown Davis one before. These look much better made and steel not alloy. Couple of things to watch, make sure everythings really tight and can't rub. I'd put a plastic pipe/hose over the retaining pin on the shovel.

Also what are the shovel and axe like quality wise. Are the good hard steel? I'm thinking I might get one after all. They are handy!
Sorry mate you lost me plastic or hose pipe on the shovel??? For the pin
the only two things I thought you could be talking about is the pin that holds it all in with the padlock, that I don't think is a problem as it sits on the rubber of the shovel handle...
and if your not talking about that and your talking about the pin on the shovel its self to put the extension or the Handel on, that is sunken down into the shovel and again shrouded by rubber.
was it those or did you mean something else??

As for movement I haven't driven with it on yet but with the rubber strap on nothing budges. And with the axe and. Shovel being made out of the funny material hopefully the rattles will be kept to a minimum...
Yes I did buy from vic show, although I brought the shovel kit ages ago and was going to buy the holder ages ago but for some reason didn't, but glad I never as they totally changed the design to encompass the extension handle etc,,, and I have to say the whole thing is better built, and beleive it or not suprisngly light even with the tools on

I think the tools look good as for durability I don't know personally couldn't see my self using it that much but I reckon they would take a bashing the important thing for me is they are light but they feel strong.
and eventually I will get another plate so we can swap between the disco and the defender.
