I use to drive for a living and all the careers Ive had some important and some S**T kicker type that one I missed the most so driving isnt an issue wife may disagree but she drives around alot for work any way where spending 3 days in Muswellbrook for her work, spending some time at a resort on 20 Acres in a bongalow with a spa then 2 days in Katoomba hehehehehe
Jeez there has been heaps of good advise. I really don't know what your financial position is, but that type of property generally requires about 40% deposit from the Banks etc.
I'm in Orange, and that 200k type of money bought for me 8 acres with bore, 3 phase, phone, bitumin to the block, but nothing on the block. 650k will buy you a house on that type of land. I think for bigger blocks you keep heading further out of town as I'm pretty sure either Orange or Cabonne councils are restricting block sizes to about 100 acres now. Similar money buys teh 100acre blocks, but unserviced. 200K will buy something in town to live in, but thats not what you're after.
Orange has just about everything in it, and generally if its not here then it can be brought in from Sydney pretty efficiently. As you go further out and also away from that main Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo line things become a bit smaller and off the beaten track... this said, I'm pretty sure that Parkes is about to become a major transportation hub, so perhaps it's a gold mine waiting to be found!
Who know what will happen from now till then rumour has it that property market in NSW will head north soon I cant see that happening with intrest rate hikes every quarter, it also all depends on work if there is any in my field and in the wifes
I wont be walking with any more then 20% to where we will buy and it maybe a good idea to rent for a while to get a feel for the township it self
for now its all pipe line dreams till this house is put on the market we wont know what to do or where to go :(
