In fact, last month's horrendous roaming charges from the US kind of confirm it.

Even if those rates were true (Which I have doubts about, but will find out when I make a small test call to check it works before buying a handset) it would be a small price to pay for saving your life. Obviously not the thing to use for chatting to thew wife though.....

I spoke to Telstra about this, but it was about 12-18 months ago.
