Apologies DS..your right ..we should not be tarred with the same brush as those RRS owners ..:p
I'll have a chat with my butler when he brings my car round to ensure he or one of the minions waves when one see's another Land Rover approaching..;)
As it was a P38 owner who initiated this thread , we have to do our bit for the cause..
cheers,
Richard
I got a wave yesterday whilst driving home in Fluffy..
It was george130 in his Pajero..but it's still a wave :p
cheers Edd...
GET REAL !
I wave at all Land Rover products from my Sport and maybe once in fifty times I get a return wave, never from Disco's !
I have NEVER had a wave initiated from any Land Rover except the pretty young things driving their Sports to the ski fields. I don't think they know anything about Land Rover tradition. Maybe they are just more friendly !!!!
I live in an area where there are more discos and range rovers per square km than any where else in Australia and none of them know how to wave... (and none of them have been off the blacktop except to pull the horse float back to Centennial park... that was before EI) ... BUT saw a bloke in a Defender parked at the local bottle shop ..asked him if he was on the way to Cooma and sure enough he lived locally and he indeed was on way to Cooma.... if I waved at him - he might have known how to wave back.
ho har was so busy looking where we had to go in Moss street (if you live in south side Brissy you will know what I mean) and I said that defender waived at us, I was yelled at for not waving.
OOOHHHH come on ..... I know I am an woman but really can I be blamed for not waving.
seriously you need to keep a look out......they are there
Wave at defenders and series only. Sorry to say but the others seem to be a waste of time. For some reason you get the feeling that defender/series drivers just get the land rover thing.
Just wondering if the lifting of one of two fingers to signal was because you are too scared to let go of the wheel at speed and wave properly.
The bike rider nod is alive and well exept with harley riders but who cares about them anyway.
Iget really annoyed when Defenders don't wave back, I think how dare you drive one, no respect and all that. Or maybe it's not their ride. Either way a kneecapping is in order. Or is that a bit too extreme?
I find the Landrover wave is just lifting your Right hand up from the steering wheel at the Thee O clock position with out letting go of the steering wheel with your thumb.
Around Nowra all us Defender owners wave to each other.
When I drive the 101 rover I only get a few waves as most rover owners do not know what it is.
Driving through Yawal RD at Nowra one day a convoy of Discos and the like was going the other way and the first one must have realised what a 101 was and the bush tele graph.....the CB radio told the others and the air horn and rover wave got a work out in short time.
...was out last night and saw a couple of defenders and disco's.....I was in a lone disco1 V8.
On the way to brissy saw a defender going the same direction - tried to wave in his line of sight....nothing completely ignored! The other disco's where later last night ....if they waved back couldn't see..
Ok girls & guys
We went up to Ipswich today for a BBQ with a group only 2 fenders though.
We waived at all the fenders and got waves back I even caught a disco waving at me :)
