It doesn't have a very awful smell coming from the boot does it? May be the P.O.

I still think that the Police need to remove the number plates before the Council can remove the vehicle. Even with the relevant notices etc.

This is a later model, one of the badge engineered XJ6's with the largish square tail-lights.

Diana, I don't know about NSW, but here the local authority can and will move it with plates attached if unregistered. It is an offence in Qld. to park an unregistered vehicle on a public road. Also an offence to park a vehicle, registered or unregistered, on a public road for purposes of display or advertising for sale. In this latter case if it is unregistered and someone complains to Council, then the owner gets a double whammy, did park unregistered vehicle, and, did park for display purposes. Total $300.

I know the little V8 Daimler Mark II from the early to mid sixties. Quite a nice little car as pommie s--t goes and superior to the Jaguar stablemate.

This is a late model XJ6 style body with Daimler badges and grille.

it's only an old pommy piece of excess steel and needs to be converted to scrap.

    that should get a reply.

if you want it ask the owners in the homes nearby and then ask the council, and then bid for it at auction.
that's the decent thing to do.
i do not condone stealing. even if it appears dumped.

got into trouble for that from my dad many years ago when i moved a dumped car in our street into our garage and began improving it, i had to return it to the state i found it in and put it back where i found it, three houses down the street, fella came and drove it away the next day. i have always wondered if his electrics worked properly, as i had the dash out when dad advised me to put it back!

I suspect that the Daimler V8 would be a good alternative to a series 6 cylinder or even the four. A nice torquey compact little engine - would probably fit a series engine bay without a lot of mods.

The V8 is certainly a better engine than the jag 6 of the same size.
