Thread: Dissapointment....(or NSW such a bad place not even it wants to be there.)

For those of you who keep tabs on things, (which proves I am right to be paranoid there are strangers watching me......) the following facts will be self evident.

1. Ive just been down to newcastle-ish to do a course.
2. I have previously modded the bull bar of Big red to replace the normal lights with LED type lights and give them some protection.

no-one gets any points for guessing that while I was down since I had the weekend Off I went for a play which lead to A bent tie rod

As time was running out and the windows were more or less clean Demudding big red was a case of "nope, lets fix the steering, see what else got broke and have a beer or several"

Im pleased to say that my upgrade to the lights in the bar work and the addition of the extra protection seems to have rendered my "practically unbreakable" lights as planet proof

see the orange glow, thats it working. Cool. (and I managed to snap it without fudging the electrics to make it stay on permanantly)

so now that Im happy that the lights are safe against terra-notso-firma I just have to wait for a skippy test. On the way back I just happend to re-educate some roos both on the left hand front side, Bueaty if the lights still work when I get home im apples.

The test wasnt a total write off I have garnished 2 important lessons/facts from it

1. If your going to test something pay attention to the test conditions, Testing something behind a shield of mud reveales that clay is an excellent roo deflector and

2. NSW cant be much of a place to be, half of it wants to come to queensland and is hitching a lift on unsuspecting 4x4's


Oh and the trip back has seen me set a new PB for fuel economy The trip that I finished with the last 15 or so K's with the fuel light on has had me return with the needle just 1 needle width under 1/4.

720+ Km for lets call it 60L as I know that when the light comes on I have a bit more than 10l left in the tank that I can use and the fuel light doesnt come on till about 1/3 of the way into the orange segment.

So you got a Lump of Dirt on it...... Well done.... Big Tick for you.....

So where are the Bush shots.... After shots is only for the Barrack boys....
